Our systems are all built with RAID redundancy. That means there will be an extra, online disk drive (or two) in case something catastrophic does happen. The extra disk will pick up where the failed one left off and call (or e-mail) to tell us about it. For some clients we even monitor the server externally to alert us of failures when the sever can’t “speak” for itself. To date, not one of our systems has gone down due to hardware failure.
