Denver Nephrology presented a need to consolidate two existing servers nearing end of life and also the need for a test server (to go production later) for an upgrade to their Electronic Medical Records (EMR) application. Multiple software failures, lack of available disk space and the need for a local disaster recovery solution fueled the need for a new server platform.
We performed a network assessment of their current infrastructure and proposed a solution that migrated two of their existing servers and added two new servers to a single, more reliable, RAID5 solution that offered double their current disk capacity (with room to scale to a larger disk farm in the future), redundancy for every major hardware subsystem, speed increases in processor technology and a generally more stable platform.
We installed the current version of Windows Server Enterprise on all 4 servers in this new environment and created virtual images of their existing servers for use in the event of an IT disaster. We produced a detailed project plan that paid careful attention to a planned migration of all of their existing user and patient data keeping a watchful eye to insure little or no production downtime.
The migration of this client’s legacy servers to this consolidated server was successful. It provided a “green” solution that required less power while at the same time providing the stability that this client desperately needed in both production and test environments.

The Dumb Friends League was using the industry standard “one server per applicaton” platform with a installed server base of ~7 Microsoft Servers with older operating systems.
In order to provide a more stable and protected platform we consolidated those servers into only two VMWare virtual servers. This project also allows the League to embrace the “Green IT” initiative and saves them over time on their monthly power comsumption.
The server’s consolidated have been turned down and the production systems in place have been running for a month or so.
This solution strengthens their position for disaster recovery, allowed used of the latest operating systems and provided all of the functionality of the newest Microsoft Exchange Server technology as well.

Clear Creek Surgery had been running on legacy hardware that was nearing end of life. Multiple hardware failures (power supplies), lack of available disk space and the need for disaster recovery fueled the need for a new server platform.
We performed a network assessment of their current infrastructure and proposed a solution that replaced their current server hardware with a more reliable, RAID5 solution that offered double their current disk capacity, general speed increases in processor technology and a disaster recovery solution that leverages the physical location of a sister company.
We installed Windows 2003 R2 in their existing environment and created images of their existing servers for use in the event of an IT disaster. We made/implemented environmental changes to their computer room and are improving efficiencies in the way they conduct their business by implementing “green” solutions that use less power and leverage a single, consolidated server.

The Lowry office hosted a Microsoft Small Business Server that also acted as their primary Exchange server for all of thier Lowry-based employees and some employees in remote offices. The employees in other offices used a blend of thier own Microsoft Small Business/Exchange server and POP3 access for e-mail. Mail delivery was slow, cumbersome and unreliable. Mail to PDA’s and SmartPhones was sporadic on most days and near impossible.
Through our efforts we were able to consolidate all of the Lowry employees e-mail addresses, all of the employees e-mail in remote locations, install a new Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft Exchange 2007 server(s), remove their reliance on POP3 (through the installation of Outlook Anywhere), enable offsite spam and virus protection and simplify their entire e-mail solution to the point the doctors felt confident enabling mail on thier PDA’s and SmartPhones once again.
